30 Weeks and 4 Days

I am 30 weeks and 4 days today. This has been a very busy week. We had 2 doctors appointments, Thanksgiving, lots of shopping and today there is a basketball game. Monday we went to Dr. Heflin and everything was good, not too big of a noteworthy appointment, but he said I was measuring perfectly. I'm not sure if that was perfectly from my last appointment or perfectly, measuring on schedule. On Tuesday, we had our appointment in Fort Worth. It went well. He is still continuing to get bigger and BIGGER!

If you notice on this screen. I was 30 Weeks and 0 Days on the date of my appointment. The GA(AUA) is the size in which he was measuring: 32 weeks and 3 days. The EDD is my actual due date of Feb. 2, 2010. The EDD(AUA) is the due date he is measuring for: Jan. 16, 2010.



Lastly, you will notice under the Growth heading, he is measuring in the 93.3% for his gestational age.

29 Weeks and 5 Days

Whoa...I am on a fast racing train that is coming to a screeching halt soon...When I look on my pregnancy counter and see only 72 days left until my due date, I am almost speechless! I remember Memorial Day weekend sleeping on the love seat and getting this crazy idea to take a pregnancy test like it was yesterday. And now, our little Rush will be here in no time! Chris and I were walking down the hall tonight in the gym and I said, "Babe, I can't believe November is almost over. You know what that means right? December is our last full month as just a couple. Then we will be a couple that are parents to a beautiful bundle of joy!" So crazy to think of myself as a Mommy. I don't think it has quite sunk in yet. Although the due date is still 72 days away, Dede (my Mom) and Nonna (Misti) are convinced that Rush will be here either Jan. 16th or 19th. That puts us less then 60 days away until Rush's possible arrival. I am really starting to believe they are going to be pretty accurate. I am starting to get the..."Oh my gosh, you are so big, When are you due again?" "There is no way you are making it until Feb. 2nd" and the "you look like you have already dropped!" I even got the later from the doctor at the doctor's office on my LAST visit. Who knows...only God. We can't wait to see that little man, but we have LOTS to do in the meantime. We have 2 doctor's appointments this week and a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with the team planned. So, this should be a pretty busy blog week for us. So, stay tuned for pictures! PS...we had a GREAT basketball week this week. 3 games in 5 days! All with WINS! We are off to a great start. Not another game until next Saturday.

My New Adventure

So, I have decided to embark on a new adventure. I have been inspired by a wonderful blog that I found on one of my friend's blogs...Thanks Ashley! My inspiration website is mycharmingkids.net. I highly recommend, especially those Momma's out there to check out this amazing lady's blog. I was drawn to her blog when I began reading about her amazing little boy who has struggled with SVT for the entire life...he's 1. I stay in touch so much I feel like I know the family. They live in Minnesota and "MckMama" has thousands of people who follow her blog. No, I don't necessarily want thousands of people to follow my blog, but what a way to inspire people, possibly lead them to the lord, keep them posted on great things going on around us, or even swap recipes or parenting stories! I know I am fixing to embark on the BIGGEST adventure of my life, parenthood. I can't think of a better way to keep family and friends involved then a blog. So, please stay tuned to see what I have coming up. I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I do...feel free to share the blog or ideas,

28 Weeks 1 Day

I am 28 weeks and 1 day today. I am blown away that my due date is in 12 weeks! That is so crazy. We had our shower this last weekend. We got some great things. Definately put us off to a great start. I had a wonderful time with family and friends. We started child birth classes last week. Last night was our second night. It has been quite interesting and we are learning alot to say the least. I think we have seen enough labor & delivery videos to last us a life time. As you watch those videos, it really makes you wonder if you are ready for this. I have to say I am very ready for Rush to make his appearance into this world, but not so enthused about the delivery and labor it takes to get him here. :) Rush has become more and more active by the day. Sometimes I feel like he is about to push right out of my stomach! He nearly kicked my plate off of my belly tonight at dinner. I put a slide show of pictures from the shower below and some of Rush's room. We have 3 basketball games next week: Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Our next doctor's appointment is the 23rd and 24th. I should for sure have some new sono pics after that.

26 Weeks 1 Day

I am now 26 weeks and 4 days, but these pictures were taken at 26 weeks and 1 day. Not a lot going on this week baby related. We went down to UT-San Antonio for our first scrimmage today. We are hoping to start putting together baby furniture tomorrow. I will post some pictures of that once we get it up and going. Rush is getting bigger and more active everyday. His movements are REALLY able to be seen and felt from the outside of my stomach now, which is pretty cool.

25 Weeks and 3 Days

I'm 25 weeks and 3 days today. Rush should be the size of an eggplant...a LARGE eggplant. I can't believe how fast it is flying. We are almost into a double digit count down. CRAZY! We had a great doctors appointment today. I found out I do not have Gestational Diabetes..yea! I am very close though. My glucose level was 133 and they make you take the 3 hour test at 140 and you have it if that test reads 147...I think. I have been trying really hard this last month to watch what I was eating and drinking instead of just putting any and everything sweet in my mouth like I usually do. And, it has definitely paid off...I only gained 1 lb. this month. Chris, Dr. Heflin and I were so proud. Rush is still growing like a weed at rapid pace. My abdomen measured 29 cm, which is about 3 1/2 cm over what it should be. Looks like we may just be growing a BIG BOY! I am going to continue to try and stay close to the same eating habits as I have this last month, so we will see how much I put on next month. We don't have another appointment for 4 more weeks. This will be out last 4 week appointment, then I will start going every 2 weeks. I will post some pictures this weekend of Homecoming and hopefully some belly pics too.

24 Weeks

I am 24 weeks today. We had a busy day today. Not only did Chris come home from 4 day, 3 state recruiting trip today, we had 2 doctors appointments. This morning we went to Cook's Children's Hospital for a fetal echocardiogram on Rush's heart. The Doctor said everything looks perfect so far. The two heart conditions I was born with aren't 100% detectable until after birth, but there are some detectors that they can look for. None of those detectors are present. That was very exciting news. Our 2nd appointment was at the high risk doctor. Our last visit there was at 18 weeks. Although he wasn't very cooperative for good sonogram pictures, they were able to get all of the measurements they needed. Now, the high risk doctor is lingering those wonderful little gestational diabetes words over my head. Although there hasn't been anything determined for sure, signs are starting to point in that direction. I will have my official gestational diabetes blood test on Friday. Can't wait to drink the good stuff..haha.

At 18 weeks, Rush was measuring 7 days ahead of schedule. Now at 24 weeks, he is measuring 12 days ahead of schedule. He is weighing approximately 1 lb 13 oz. The high risk doctor said she isn't 100 % convinced that I have gestational diabetes and that he may just be a big baby. We will know for sure in a few weeks. He was still laying across my stomach with his head on my left side and his feet on the right. He was facing towards my spine, so we weren't even able to see his face or a profile. He was just mooning us the entire time. :)

I was thinking this would be our last appointment at the high risk doctor, but because he is measuring so big, she wants to see me again in 6 weeks. If my gestational diabetes test comes back positive, then I will probably have to go back a little sooner then that. She also dropped the bomb on me that I need to be drinking before 3 liters and 1 gallon of water a day. Do you know how much that is? Holy Cow, I might drown. I was also instructed to completely cut out the cokes, desserts, sweets, and sugary fruits. Are you kidding me? Those are my absolute favorite foods ever!

I had a holy cow moment last week...my due date is only 3 1/2 months away. We have soooo much to do between now and then. Midnight Madness is tomorrow night and then the ball begins to roll at a rapid pace!

I finally got to see our sweet little niece Mayci, Rush's newest cousin. Isn't she beautiful?!?!

Just thought I would post Rush's puppy Lucy too. Apparently she thought she was supposed to take her bath in the mud puddle in the back yard tonight. We are now waiting for Daddy to get home so we can take a bath...oh these kiddos.

21 Weeks 6 Days

I'm 21 weeks and 6 days today. The time is starting to pick up speed. We had a doctor appointment on Friday. I have gained too much weight this month. I have gained 10 lbs since my last visit. Whoa! My abdomen measured 2 cm over what it should. I know I have really started to pop out, but I still have a long way to go. My belly button isn't quite popped out, but it is getting to be flat with the rest of my stomach. Dr. Heflin said I need to start watching what I'm eating because I might have gestational diabetes and am on my way to a 10 lb baby. I have to drink the good stuff and get the gestational diabetes test in 3 weeks.


Our niece, Mayci Renee Hamilton was born on Thursday, Sept. 24th. She is so adorable and we can't wait to see her in person. It is so exciting that Rush will have a few little cousins close in age.

Midnight madness is only 2 weeks from Wednesday...Holy Moly! It is coming up quick.

19 Weeks 5 Days

I am 19 weeks and 5 days today. I can't believe that Tuesday, I will be half way through my pregnancy. It is kind of crazy because people are starting to notice I am pregnant without me saying anything. I have had several say, "Oh my gosh, I didn't know you were pregnant," without me telling them first. I have caught others looking at my stomach and wondering if I'm just getting fat. :) I am definitely out of my regular pants, but in between on maternity shirts. My regular shirts are getting too short, but some of my maternity shirts still look big on me.


The time has flown by so far, and I'm afraid it is fixing to pick up speed. Our next 4 1/2 months are packed. With football season already in full swing, a niece due in a week or two, my mom is moving down, basketball season starting, the holidays and preparing our home and our lives for the arrival of Rush. We are trying to do as much as possible early, as Midnight Madness and the start of basketball season is only 4 weeks and 4 days away. Our first game is on November 17th. My goal is to have as much as possible done before the first game as possible since most of our Saturdays will be gone after that until Rush gets here.


I finally figured out what we are doing Rush's bedding in. Here is a picture of some of the fabric. The basketball print is going to be one of the fabrics used for some of the squares of his quilt. The black is chenille with raised dots and will also be used for some squares. The third fabric for another set of squares, the trim and the backing is a black and white stripe like what is in the referee jersey on the basketball fabric. My Nana, Rush's great grandmother, is going to be making all of his bedding. I am excited for it to come together so I can see the big picture.

As you can see, I have been enjoying shopping now that we found out the baby is a boy. I love spoiling him already. Our next Dr. appt is with my Cardiologist on the 21st and the back to Dr. Heflin on the 25th. I will keep you posted.

18 Weeks 1 Day...or maybe 19 Weeks and 1 Day

We had a big appointment today. We went to see the high risk Dr. in Fort Worth so they could measure every possible detail Rush has. Everything was great! He is measuring a little bigger then the Feb. 2nd due date. He is actually measuring about a week ahead of schedule...looking more like Jan. 26th. That's what Mommy and Daddy are hoping for. I was shooting for Jan. 25th, anytime sooner than the 2nd would be great, due to the basketball schedule. Rush was moving all over the place, laying back on his side with one arm behind his head and the other one on his face. Dr. Heflin was 90% sure it was a boy, but the pictures proved today he is 100% boy! He is already growing a chunky tummy. Most everything measured right in the range of 18-19 weeks, but his tummy measured over 20 weeks! They found nothing abnormal whatsoever and they even measured down to the size of his arteries. We got to see his tiny fingers and toes too! Our next appointment is with my heart doctor on Sept. 21st. We will go back to the same doctor that we went to today on October 13th. 17 Weeks-It's a Boy!

We have a future Texan on the way! We went to the Dr. today and he surprised us with a sonogram and he said we are having a baby boy, Rush Christopher Reisman will be here before we know it.

He was moving around like crazy. We were laughing because he kept arching his back.

We went in for our regular appointment. We thought he would just listen to the heart beat and go over all of my lab work. Rush's heart rate was 148 and the Dr. said my abdomen measured perfectly. Then he said, "Let's just see if we can tell what it is." Of course, Chris and I were thrilled. Luckily, Rush was cooperating. When he said, "Oh, it's a boy." Chris and I both couldn't believe it. The reality of our little boy thriving inside of me was so exciting. Although Chris would never admit it, I think he was jumping up and down inside! He asked him..."On a scale of 1-100, how sure are you that it's a boy?" Dr. Heflin said, "90% and that's as high as I ever go." He also said he hadn't been wrong since 1997. We told him we are holding him to it. :) Rush was moving all over the place. It was hard to believe how much he has grown since the last time we saw him 9 weeks ago.

Chris has been laughing at me for the last few days because I told him I felt like I had a piece of wood in my lower abdomen. Once he saw Rush and how big he is, now he knows what I'm talking about. According to thebump.com, he should be a little over 5 inches long (crown to rump) and weighs about 5.9 oz. I have began to feel tiny little pings in my lower abs, which the Dr. said is more than likely the baby.

Everything looks great so far, but we will get a VERY in depth look at the baby and everything checked out next Wednesday when we go to a specialist in Fort Worth. Due to my heart condition I was born with, this will be the first of a series of appointments to check Rush's heart. It is all precautionary just to make sure everything looks good. We are really excited about this appointment because they will do a 3D/4D sonogram. We will be able to see our little man VERY clearly. I will post again after that appointment with our newest pictures.

The First 13 Weeks

Hey everyone! Just thought I would go ahead and get started early blogging about the new baby! The last 13 weeks have been so exciting. It all started on Memorial Day weekend. Although Chris thinks I was, we were not planning quite yet. We were wanting to wait a few months so the baby would come after basketball season. Well as we all know, God has his plan and we got pregnant a little early. So, back to Memorial Day weekend...I was so tired. Sunday afternoon we were napping and I woke up a little early. This great idea popped into my head that I may be pregnant. Chris was asleep on the couch, so I snuck in the bathroom and took a pregnancy test. No big deal, thought it would be negative for sure. I was taking my time, washing my hands, I saw it had read, but KNEW it would say Not Pregnant. Low and behold, I glance over and BOOM... Pregnant! I thought to myself, "Holy Cow, how do I tell Chris?" All these years, I just knew I would have some creative way to tell him I was pregnant. Well here went my creative way, haha. I went in the living room and woke him up. I said, "Are you awake? I really need you to be awake for this. We need to talk." He was obviously still a little groggy, but said, "What's wrong? Are you OK?" I responded, "Well, so I got this crazy feeling and thought maybe I should go take a pregnancy test, and it said I am pregnant!" He flew off the couch and said "HOW?" Then he woke up and I think we both started laughing. So, off we go to Wal-Mart for yet another box of test. 5 tests later, I'm still pregnant. We were a little nervous telling his Dad at first, but once he got excited, we new it was smooth sailing! I think by Wednesday of that week, pretty much everyone knew we were expecting.

Our due date is February 2, 2010. Today started my 2nd Trimester which I am super excited about. I can't believe the baby will be here in just 6 months. I hope that everyone enjoys keeping up with our adventure. The next 9 weeks should be pretty busy, we have 5 Dr's. appointments. I will keep everyone up to date on how it's going. I'm soooo ready to find out what our little bundle of joy is. Will it be a Texan or a TexAnn?
